2020 FIA Calendar announced
The 2020 International Karting calendar has been published by the FIA and confirms that the World Championship is heading to Brazil.
The 2020 OK and OKJ World Championship will close out the international season on November 1st at the Speedpark, Birigui. This comes after some concerns about costs, which have been covered by a consortium including CIK President Felipe Massa.
The OK and OKJ season is extremely compressed to give time to ship equipment over to Brazil. The first round will be held in Zuera, Spain on April 19th before heading to Sarno on May 17th. Just 2 weeks later the championship will head to Wackersdorf Germany for round 3. There is then a summer break before the final round on July 12th at Kristianstad, Sweden.
The KZ European championship will once again be contested over 2 rounds. Round 1 will see the championship head to the venue of this year’s world championship, Lonato on May 3rd. The second and final round being held in Genk, Belgium on June 21st. This year the KZ World Championship will be held on September 13th in Le Mans, France.
Once again the FIA Karting Academy Trophy will follow the KZ and KZ2 paddock for their three round series. The nations cup of karting will be in action in Lonato, Genk and Le Mans.
We look forward to following and covering the 2020 FIA championships when they kick off in April next year.
